The peace of the lord!

I've noticed lately that greeting so common among Christians has become something so automatic and mechanical that most of us have actually forgotten what this greeting means, we have forgotten the power load on these words so simple yet so profound. It was the custom of the apostles greet all people with 'Peace of the Lord’(see 1 Corinthians 1.3 / 1.2 Colossians / Philemon 1.3 / and several other passages), not only personally but also in letters and messages.

The peace of the Lord Jesus! 

Some people replace "Good morning / Good afternoon / Good evening" by the "Peace of the Lord" is wrong? No it is not! But we can not forget about what exactly are we talking about when we say "Peace of the Lord," we're talking "I wish that the peace of the Lord Jesus follow you wherever you go!" Then summarize all the simple "Peace of the Lord."

Once I went to visit a friend she had not seen for a long time, so i entered the room all of his family were there, and quite naturally i talked to everyone, one by one, saluting with 'Peace of the Lord' it was then that her father told me that was not a christian, it was then that we began a dialogue interesting:

- I did not ask if you were a Christian, I said I want the peace of the Lord follow you everywhere you go.

-how so?

- Do you work?

- yes

     - Then I wish you the peace of Jesus is there in your work with you, he cares for us 24 hours a day so well individually, you frequents bars or restaurants?

     - yes.

     - Then I wish you Peace of Jesus be with you there also freeing you from all accident and giving you all kinds of deliverance, after all, I believe that God has something special to you.

I ended the conversation with a smile and a handshake as he just looked at me. Days later she told me that her father was asking if everything I said was true, if the Bible really is God spoke it and even took care of him regardless of where he entered. I do not know what happened after that, but surely the seed sown began to show its first signs of growth.

I remember a story of a young and an old man who worked together and all day to get to work the old man turned to the young man and spoke only "Peace" to which the young man replied "Peace of the Lord Jesus!" , bothered by the fact that you never speak the whole sentence and speak only "Peace", the young man was taking question: - Why did you never speaks 'Peace of the Lord Jesus' and always speaks only 'Peace'? The old man looked at him calmly his eyes and asked: - What other peace exist?

Stop to reflect a little on this Peace that you are wanting, Philippians 4.7 will mention that Peace of the Lord Jesus transcends all understanding, there is no word in any language that can describe this peace, then remember, the Peace of God is the best thing you could want for a person, say 'Peace of the Lord' will bring a far greater impact than a "Good morning".

Do not let the day-to-day make us lose the details of everyday life, you can change the day of a person with your words, there is power in your words, pay more attention to them!

A Paz do Senhor!

A Paz do Senhor!

Tenho notado que ultimamente essa saudação tão comum entre os cristãos tem se tornado algo tão automático e mecânico que a maioria de nós tem de fato esquecido o que significa essa saudação e pior, tem se esquecido do poder carregado nessas palavras tão simples, porém tão profundas. Era costume dos apóstolos saudar a quem quer que encontre com a ‘Paz do Senhor’ (ver 1 Coríntios 1.3 / Colossenses 1.2 / Filemom 1.3 / e várias outras passagens), não só pessoalmente como também em cartas e mensagens.

A Paz do Senhor irmão...

Vou ser um pouco direto, alguns por aí andam substituindo o bom e velho “Bom dia/Boa tarde/Boa noite” pela “Paz do Senhor”, esta errado? Não, não está! Porém não podemos esquecer sobre o que exatamente estamos falando, quando dizemos “a Paz do Senhor”, estamos falando “Eu desejo que a Paz do Senhor Jesus te siga por onde quer que você for!”, então resumimos tudo ao simples e direto “a Paz do Senhor”.

Certa vez fui fazer uma visita a uma amiga que não via há muito tempo, assim que entrei na sala todos de sua família estavam lá, e com toda a naturalidade eu falei com todos, um a um, saudando com ‘a Paz do Senhor’, foi então que o pai dela me falou que não era crente, foi então que começou um diálogo interessante:

- eu não perguntei se o senhor era crente, eu disse que eu quero que a Paz do Senhor te siga em todo lugar que você for.

            - como assim?

            - o senhor trabalha?

            - sim.

            - então eu desejo que a Paz de Jesus esteja lá no seu trabalho junto contigo, afinal de contas ele cuida de nós 24 horas por dia de maneira bem individual, o senhor freqüenta bares ou restaurantes?

            - sim.

          - então eu desejo que a Paz de Jesus esteja contigo lá também te livrando de todo acidente e te dando todo tipo de livramento, afinal de contas, eu acredito que Deus tem algo especial contigo.

Encerrei a conversa com um sorriso e um aperto de mão, enquanto ele meio atônito apenas olhava fixamente pra mim. Dias depois ela me falou que o pai dela andou perguntando se tudo que eu tinha dito era verdade, se a Bíblia realmente falava isso e se Deus cuidava mesmo dele independente do lugar onde ele entrasse. Não sei o que aconteceu depois disso, mas com toda certeza a semente lançada começava a dar seus primeiros sinais de crescimento.

Lembro de uma história de um jovem e um senhor de idade que trabalhavam juntos e todos os dia ao chegar ao trabalho o senhor virava para o jovem e falava somente “a Paz”, ao que o jovem respondia “a Paz do Senhor Jesus!”, incomodado pelo fato de o senhor nunca falar a frase inteira e falar somente “a Paz”, o jovem foi tirar pergunta: - Porque o Senhor nunca fala ‘a Paz do senhor Jesus’ e sempre fala somente ‘a Paz’? O senhor olhou serenamente os olhos dele e perguntou: - Que outra paz existe?

Pare para refletir um pouco sobre essa Paz que você esta desejando, Filipenses 4.7 vai falar que a Paz do Senhor Jesus excede todo o entendimento, ou seja, não existe palavra em nenhum idioma que possa descrever essa Paz, então lembre-se, a Paz de Deus é a melhor coisa que você pode desejar para uma pessoa, dizer ‘a Paz do Senhor’ trará um impacto infinitamente maior do que um “Bom dia”.

Não permita que o “cristanês” nosso de cada dia nos faça perder os detalhes do cotidiano, você pode mudar o dia inteiro de uma pessoa com suas palavras, existe poder em suas palavras, preste mais atenção nelas!

Que o Senhor Jesus muito abençoe a sua vida, e eu desejo que a Paz do Senhor Jesus vá com você por onde quer que você vá.
